Job Summary:

Nelson-Jameson is actively seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our growing team. The chosen candidate will work in close partnership with an Account Support Representative in their specific territory. The formation of this dynamic Account Team aims to leverage complementary skills to achieve unparalleled success and provide exceptional customer support in the designated geographic region.

Expectations:

Enhancing and preserving the gross margin dollars for specific accounts following company standards. It emphasizes providing top-level service to maintain current business and seeks opportunities to increase customer spending by offering additional products and services. The goal is to consistently engage with key individuals at current accounts and develop new relationships to retain existing customers and expand market share. Additionally, there's a strategic push to identify and attract new target customers in a specified geographic area to grow Nelson Jameson's presence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage, retain, and grow assigned customer accounts.
  • Utilize CRM systems to document customer interactions and opportunities as needed.
  • Track and assess sales performance, implementing necessary adjustments to meet goals.
  • Exceed portfolio gross margin and sales goals.
  • Proactively contact assigned accounts to identify opportunities to earn more business.
  • Service-assigned customer accounts with direct visits.
  • Provide information on products and services.
  • Facilitate resolutions to customer service issues with other departments as necessary.
  • Regular customer visits will require routine car travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Attend corporate events, meetings, and training as assigned.
  • Build and sustain a pipeline of prospective clients and new opportunities for growth.
  • Drive sales initiatives, prospecting, presenting capabilities, providing quotes and proposals, negotiating terms, and finalizing deals.


Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of B2B Outside Sales or Food Manufacturing experience.
  • Passion for serving customers in a timely manner.
  • Proven territory farming and account development skills
  • Proficient with ERP, CRM, Microsoft Office, and basic computer skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and an insurable driver's record.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Distributor or manufacturer experience selling to industrial food or other sanitary manufacturing facilities; OR production experience working in industrial food or other sanitary manufacturing facilities.
  • Previous experience with industrial product lines.


What We Offer:

Compensation $70,000 annually plus commission with a pathway to $100,000+ annually in total compensation.
