This position is on-site: Baldwin Park, CAPosition Summary:This position will support the business in leading the creation and cultivation of a Company culture where our employees feel valued, respected and have a sense of belonging. This role will have an impact on every part of the employee lifecycle and serves as the business partner to leadership in our West Coast locations (CA, WA, OR). This role is supported by centers of excellence in HR Operations and recruiting and is responsible for leading the metrics driven strategy and execution at the union manufacturing sites. Oversight and responsibility for compliance, recruiting, employee experience, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, and supports EHS initiatives.
Duties:HR Operations:- Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions of the organization working with the HR Ops center of excellence.
- Create and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain handbook, policies and procedures and update as needed.
- Maintain accurate personnel records
- Ensure HR compliance, efficiency of workflow, identifying and proactively closing gaps.
- Serve as a coach and trusted advisor to partners, helping translate strategic intent into measurable results for their teams and empower leaders to identify, develop and reward high performance.
- Serve as a business partner and consultant to leaders, anticipating needs for change, recommending solutions, and influencing sustainable resolutions and change.
- Work in partnership with peer team to ensure programs and processes support team members and the business. Innovate and redesign as needed to serve both needs.
Talent Acquisition: - Driving the full recruitment process to support the business including working with leaders and the recruiting center of excellence.
- Local Employer Branding planning and execution of activities including engagement committees.
- Plan, coordinate and implement successful recruitment plans, employer branding and pipeline partnerships.
- Work with the TA center of excellence and recruiting agencies to ensure accurate staffing on the production floor and successful hire conversions.
- Keep and review recruitment KPI's and make changes accordingly with TA partners, making data driven decisions.
- Ensure that open positions have updated position descriptions and postings are in compliance.
- Ensure a successful preboarding and onboarding experience with the orientation process and beyond.
Employee Experience:- Manage the performance review process for employees.
- Review feedback from annual employee survey together with the managers and support the managers in taking appropriate action.
- Create and implement robust employee retention, recognition, and feedback programs.
- Support local committees in community involvement and employee engagement.
- Create a new hire experience where employees feel part of the organization regardless of their location and understand how they succeed.
- Create plans and programs to nurture and sustain a culture that exemplifies our values and is inclusive in nature.
- Leads employee relations investigations and grievances.
Learning & Development:- Support leadership development, individual development, succession planning and engagement for employees.
- Drive + support and train supervisor/managers in all people & organization-related processes and education, such as but not limited to:
- Annual processes such as Performance Management and Salary reviews
- Compensation & Benefits (salary benchmarking, developing benefits packages etc.)
- Individual development needs as well as Team development
- Divisional learning opportunities
- Compliance training
Safety Management:- Work with department leaders to maintain policies and procedures that impact the safety and well-being of employees and the company
- Ensure safety trainings are completed within required timeframes and update safety records as needed
- First point of contact for worker's comp claims. Partners with Safety Director to ensure resolution of claims and safety of employees
- In partnership with the Safety Director, Maintain OSHA 300 log and additional documentation
- Monitor accident trends to target areas of deficiency and makes recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and conduct safety trainings for employees and team members, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience- 5+ years in Business or Human Resources related field with multi-site union experience in both HR and Safety
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and bi-lingual in Spanish is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skill

- Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
