The role of Project Manager:

We are seeking an experienced project team leader who will effectively engage clients while managing budgets, project teams, project schedules, contracts, and risk in numerous ways to allow for the fluid and successful execution of a project.

A successful Project Manager will focus on elements involved with the client & project team relationships, including contractual obligations, project & team expectations, quality of service, and most importantly, clear communication with all parties.

When our clients need to explore their options for redesigning existing spaces, adding on, or building new - we answer the call as their trusted advisors, providing smart, creative solutions that allow them to move forward with confidence.

On any given day, you'll:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients.
  • Procure work with new and existing clients.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer a variety of contracts and contract types.
  • Prepare contract documents including scope of work, project schedule, and fee estimates.
  • Negotiate contract scope, schedule, and compensation with clients and consultants.
  • Manage multiple clients, multiple projects, and multiple project teams.
  • Create and manage project team's workload schedules, workflow plans, and project fee budgets.
  • Manage projects throughout entire process, from preliminary sketches and designs, assistance in working drawing production, through construction administration.
  • Oversee the technical production of project work, assuring that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with Ayres' quality standards and client contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Create and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Attend and present at private and public meetings and project opportunity interviews.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship of internal staff.


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science (with Major in Architecture), Bachelor of Architecture, or Master of Architecture, from NAAB accredited university.
  • 10+ years' architectural project experience with at least 3 of those years including proven project managing experience. (Project experience beyond 10 years may be considered an exception to educational degree requirement).
  • At least 3 years of proven business development success with new clients, a proven track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and the ability to creatively market Ayres' architectural services.
  • Registration as a Wisconsin registered architect in good standing, or NCARB certified Architect in good standing.
  • Ability to work in Revit.
  • A willingness to travel on an as needed basis.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to think creatively to generate creative ideas and a passion for representing Ayres Associates in a professional manner.
