Genesis Healthcare System is seeking a dedicated and skilled OBGYN Hospitalist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an OB hospitalist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include inpatient coverage and triage, monitoring the progress of labor, conducting deliveries, performing surgical interventions when necessary, seeing emergency consultations for obstetrics and gynecology patients, and ensuring the overall well-being of the patient and baby. The physician will promote patient satisfaction, support a culture of safety, and meet behavioral expectations to create an environment conducive to mutual respect and learning between the providers and staff.
Position Details:
- Avg 156 hours per month; 12-hour shifts
- Level 2 nursery
- Average 1,500 births per year for the facility
- 7 OBGYN physicians and additional NP/PA support on inpatient and outpatient services
- Two Xi Da Vinci Robots
- 260 bed community hospital
- 300+ providers on medical staff
- Located just 45-minutes from Columbus in Zanesville, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to obstetric emergencies and provide timely intervention during labor and delivery.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic examinations.
- Perform deliveries, both vaginal and cesarean sections, as required, and provide immediate postpartum care.
- Take assigned and unassigned Emergency Dept call for GYN and OB patients
- Perform urgent and emergent gynecology consults, including surgical inventions for hospital patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, midwives, and anesthesiologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in patient education regarding prenatal and postpartum care, family planning, and general women's health.
- Respond promptly to obstetric and gynecologic consultations, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Keep accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in obstetric and gynecologic medicine through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of an OBGYN residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Ohio state medical license and privileges to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Proven experience in managing labor and delivery, including proficiency in both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Proven excellence in gynecology care, including surgical interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as needed.
