We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urology Hospitalist to join our team at Genesis Healthcare System. The Urology Hospitalist will provide expert care to patients with urological conditions who require inpatient management and consultation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in urology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a hospital setting.
Aspects of this position include:
- 100% acute urology coverage and cases
- Daily OR time for emergency cases and stones
- 7 on 7 off or similar block schedule
Recruitment Package:
- 3 year guaranteed base salary

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient urological care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of urological conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, urinary retention, and genitourinary cancers.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as imaging studies, urinalysis, and urodynamic tests.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, nurses, surgeons, and other specialists, to coordinate patient care and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform urological procedures and interventions as needed, including catheter placement, cystoscopy, bladder irrigation, and urinary diversion procedures.
- Provide timely and effective consultation services to medical and surgical teams regarding urological issues impacting patient care.
- Participate in daily rounds, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance patient care, clinical knowledge, and professional development.
- Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedures accurately and comprehensively in the electronic medical record system.
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and quality standards to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and urology-related educational programs within the hospital.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training in urology from an accredited program.
- Board certification or eligibility in urology.
- State medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in providing urological care in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong clinical skills, including diagnostic reasoning, procedural competency, and patient management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
