Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 / year

Description

Our Spare HQ is in Vancouver - BC, and we would prefer successful candidates to be located in this city. If you like coming into an office, you can also work from our HQ as desired.

We are hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Talent Team! Depending on your experience.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist you will:
  1. Execute the end to end talent acquisition process (including role intake, posting, sourcing, conducting interviews, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, presenting offers, and assisting in the decision making process) in order to bring in the most qualified candidates as quickly as possible
  2. Deliver an excellent candidate experience by communicating in an informative and engaging manner, and moving candidates through the selection process quickly and thoroughly
  3. Deliver an excellent hiring manager and interviewer experience by providing timely updates and ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities through the selection process


About the Role

In this role you will...
  • Partner with hiring managers to attract and recruit the best candidates for their teams, as well as build and maintain an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Manage full-cycle talent acquisition for a variety of roles across departments
  • Actively attract, engage, and select high quality talent to support Spare's current needs and future growth using a variety of sourcing and interviewing techniques.
  • Continuously assess current Talent Acquisition processes to identify gaps and opportunities,
  • Develop and implement solutions, to improve our efficiency and optimize how we work as a team
  • Contribute to building Spare's employer brand within the Canadian talent market to increase awareness and excitement among potential candidates
  • Identify and develop partnerships and community relationships to continually expand and diversify the candidate pipeline (both passive and active)
  • Educate, train, and provide feedback to hiring managers to ensure consistency across the organization (i.e. creating an efficient and engaging interview process, including assessments and interview questions that accurately determine candidate capabilities)
  • Be accountable for your search effectiveness - including developing and tracking KPIs and metrics
  • Be a Talent Acquisition subject matter expert on the People Team, staying abreast of market and industry trends and best practices, and educating/adopting internally as appropriate


About you

You have...
  • 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with specific experience in the technology industry or startups
  • In-depth knowledge of full-cycle TA techniques and approaches to attract a diverse field of candidates
  • Experienced in developing job descriptions, job postings, selection processes, and candidate assessments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels to gain buy-in
  • Proven ability to manage multiple searches and projects through effective prioritization, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and comfortable working in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Strong analytical skills to assess metrics in order to continuously improve and refine TA processes
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, as it relates to the recruitment and selection process, specifically DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging)


It will be considered a plus (nice-to-have):
  • Experience hiring for technical roles (including but not limited to, software development, product management, product design, data science, etc.)
  • Experience sourcing, engaging and nurturing relationships with passive candidates over time to ensure they are ready to make a move when the right opportunity arises
  • Experience and/or passion for transit and public transit industry
