Overview / Objective The primary function of this role is to serve as the Finance Manager for NFL Digital Media and related operating departments. This hybrid accounting and finance role is a key finance business partner for the operating area, and is involved in annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, the quarterly close process, performing ad-hoc analysis and assisting with special projects as assigned. This role reports into the Director, Media Finance, and manages one direct report.
Responsibilities - Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, variance analysis, risk/opportunity assessments, long-term planning and various periodic and ad hoc reporting
- Partner with Finance and Operational staff to achieve the following:
- Identify and solve business problems and process inefficiencies
- Support and help lead strategic growth initiatives
- Improve operating results (i.e. proactively notify the business unit throughout the year on (un)favorable pacing versus budget, offer recommendations on how to address such variances)
- Prepare and maintain the consolidated Digital Media LOB planning model and all related operator templates
- Responsible for the quarterly close process which includes reviewing departmental general ledgers, recording quarterly transactional activity, preparing necessary accruals, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing LOB close reports with appropriate P&L variance explanations vs. forecast and budget
- Ensure the business unit adheres to key League financial policies and procedures surrounding contracts, as well as requisition and invoice processing
- Oversee capital expenditure projects and proper accounting treatment
- Responsible for gathering deliverables for internal and year-end audit reviews
- Supervise and manage a direct report
Required Qualifications - Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience within a Corporate FP&A, Operational Finance, Controllership or Public Accounting environment; a mix of the above and preferably within a large and complex organization is ideal
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with ERP (Oracle Cloud) and Planning (Vena) systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including ability to lead group meetings with operational leaders in attendance and actively engaged
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supervising and managing a direct report
- Media, Technology or Entertainment experience
- CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required
Other Key Attributes / Characteristics - Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well individually and as part of a team, ability to successfully partner with both Financial and non-Financial professionals
Travel Salary / Pay Range This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Terms / Expected Hours of Work - NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This position may require additional hours.
Salary
$90,000-$125,000 USD
