The Field Applications Engineer position supports a wide range of analog and power conversion products. Primary focus involves technical support and promotion of programmable motor control devices for BLDC and PMSM motors, as well as power management ICs for portable battery powered applications. In addition, the FAE will advocate for the entire power line card, including advanced semiconductor technologies GaN and SiC, power capacitors, inductors, and thermal management products.
The position works closely with customers, application engineering, technical marketing, and sales to promote power management and conversion products. Other responsibilities include technical support for customers evaluating and designing with our products and providing input on content for supporting technical material including selection and cross reference guides, application sell sheets, and other brochures. The job is a mix of customer support, technical marketing, and sales.
RFMW is an electronic component distributor of RF and microwave products, within the TTI Family of Specialists. The ideal candidate will be located on either the East Coast or in the DFW area.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Develop strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and sales to support design efforts for the latest and most advanced products involving motor control, power management, and power conversion applications.
Promote and support products offered by our suppliers including programmable power management devices, power semiconductors including GaN and SiC, power capacitors and inductors, and thermal management products.
Become familiar with evaluation boards and reference designs to help customers quickly evaluate products and help speed time to market.
Frequent customer visits to promote products and increase opportunities for sales.
Understand device programming to assist customers where applicable.
Understand datasheets, documentation, and presentation material and be able to answer technical questions from design engineers.
Develop a deep understanding of where all active and passive products from our suppliers are used in a design to help promote associated selling of the entire line card.
Assist in training sales on products and developing technical ref material including product presentations, brochures, product selection and cross reference guides.
Meet design win and sales objectives as defined by the company.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related degree
- Previous FAE or technical sales experience in power management and motor control products.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS:- Design and development experience with power management and motor control circuits, with primary focus on BLDC and PMSM motors preferred.
- Experience using lab equipment such as DMM's, oscilloscopes, analyzers, bench power supplies, function generators, LCR bridge, etc.
- Familiarity with PCB layout techniques for high power circuits preferred.
- Familiarity with power conversion concepts and products used in these applications.
- Good knowledge of the benefits of wide band-gap semiconductors and use in power conversion applications.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated team player
- Ability to travel and meet with customers to discuss current design needs.

Total Annual Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000/year. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
