Job Title: Neurologist - Movement Disorders Specialist
Location: Mercy Health Neurology, Neuroscience Institute in Toledo, OHÂ
Position Overview:
Mercy Health is seeking a talented and passionate Neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders to join our dynamic team at the Neuroscience Institute. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build and grow an ambulatory practice while contributing to the development of specialized services. You will enjoy a balanced work schedule with a preference for five eight-hour days, with the understanding that extended and weekend hours are required when on call.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and grow an outpatient practice, utilizing virtual visit options to improve patient accessibility and convenience.
- Participate in inpatient rounding services and call rotations as needed, collaborating with partners at St. Vincent Hospital and metro rounding services to ensure fair distribution of responsibilities.
- Contribute to resident education through didactics, weekly resident clinic sessions, and involvement in journal clubs, grand rounds, and other educational activities.
- Provide a minimum of 36 hours per week of direct patient care, along with four hours per week of administrative duties in an outpatient setting.
- Opportunity for involvement in research activities and additional departmental support, as needed.
- Availability for call rotations, with an agreement of eight days per month, subject to equitable distribution among team members.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide virtual visits and explore future development of teleneurology programs for inpatient consultations.
Ancillary Services:
Outpatient:
- Access to advanced diagnostic tools, including 1.2 Tesla high-field open MRIs.
- Physical therapy services and neuropsychologist support located within the Sunforest office building.
Inpatient:
- Comprehensive in-house resources such as physical therapy, imaging services, collaborative case management, neurocritical care, and stroke center facilities.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology, with the ability to obtain a medical professional license in the state of Ohio.
- Fellowship training in Movement Disorders preferred.
- Proficiency in providing both inpatient and outpatient neurology services, including prescription authority.
- Dedication to resident teaching and supporting the expansion of Mercy Health's neurology services.
