About Us:

Pacific Fusion is developing affordable fusion power on Earth that is inspired by the stars. Since 2000 the world's energy consumption has increased by 50% and continues to grow year on year, but over 80% of that energy still comes from fossil fuels. Fusion has the potential to provide power that is safe, unlimited, and scalable.

The science and engineering required to enable fusion on Earth won't be easy. Fusion has been researched for over 50 years and Lawrence Livermore National Lab is the only organization to ever achieve ignition - producing more energy than was input. Pacific Fusion's core founding team were some of those scientists and engineers who achieved ignition, and are now working to commercialize fusion power.

What You'll Do:

As our first in-house recruiting hire you will be responsible for hiring the team that commercializes fusion. In our first year we have grown to 30 employees and plan to more than double that number by the end of 2025. This is not an easy task as we need to hire some of the world's best scientists and engineers from diverse backgrounds while growing quickly and thoughtfully.

You will partner with our leadership team and hiring managers to continue innovating on the processes and systems required to achieve these goals, while making great hires along the way.

About you:

• Track record of hiring a variety of hardware and science talent for top companies
• Experience scaling deeptech companies up to 200 employees
• Comfortable being hands-on and leading a small team across the entire hiring lifecycle
• Helped leaders implement DEI hiring initiatives
• You are comfortable configuring systems and using data to report to leadership and improve hiring processes
• Passionate about working at a high-impact climatetech company with ambitious goals
• Driven by curiosity to learn the science and engineering behind the roles

It would be great if:

• You have experience hiring in industries such as: fusion, nuclear, energy, aerospace, climatetech
• You have already been a first recruiting hire and want to apply your lessons learned this time around
• You have built university/ early career talent programs
• You have led talent branding initiatives
• You have built sourcing strategies and talent mapping for complex companies
