You're joining Planhat's in-house creative agency - Studio Planhat.
Taking cues from old-school ad agencies, we're building a disruptive multi-channel B2B identity and voice. We're thoughtful, no-nonsense doers. We test and see, rather than speculate.
Processes and ideas don't matter to us: engaging, well-targeted and compelling copy does. We generate imaginative, production-ready work at scale every single day.
As the stewards of Planhat's brand, our success is measured by our ability to drive engagement, followers and traffic while upholding and evolving our brand identity and reputation.
We're based in Planhat's NYC hub. We can work together if you're sitting somewhere between PST and EST and it'll be even more fun if you're in NYC with us!
Motivation
You're going to be writing all day, so you should absolutely
love writing. The kind of writing that catches your target's eyes and keeps them locked in - ending in action, not apathy. Generally, this means you'll have spent some time at an advertising agency, coming up with clever content opportunities and delivering concise copy on-demand. As part of Studio Planhat, you'll have the freedom to spot what's needed and execute a series of campaigns to fill the gap.
From day 1, your words will be responsible for mobilising our 40,000+ strong audience.
Trajectory
If you succeed in this role, you'll be Planhat's first dedicated copywriter. Naturally, you'll grow to own and evolve our entire tone of voice in lockstep with our brand identity as we scale. This includes:
- ideating, owning and executing large omni-channel campaigns end-to-end
- setting in-house guidelines for overall communications and tone of voice
- building a team of copywriters to deliver imaginative and persuasive content that positions Planhat as a household name in the B2B SaaS space and beyond

- Write clear, concise and grammatically correct copy
- Are a strategic, imaginative and creative thinker who can brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and produce thoughtful, compelling messaging
- Combine compelling copy with core brand design atoms to create highly visible integrated brand and content marketing programs that drive conversion and word of mouth
- Understand the dynamics involved in communicating across all channels - authoring creative copy for print and digital advertising, video and socials
- Are skilled at writing smart, persuasive copy that motivates a breadth of target audiences - from prospective customers and hires to potential partners - to take the desired action
- Know and deploy the different language styles that appeal to various target markets
- Enjoy breathing life into proprietary research and analytics to educate and engage audiences
- Take interest in SEO and strategic content marketing best practices - self-calibrating based on what converts and what doesn't
- Leverage different copy styles where suitable to maximise impact, including:
- Long-form (quarterly reports/white papers)
- Ghostwriting (essays & opinion pieces)
- Editorial content (industry articles for our blog)
- Advertising (headlines, taglines, combining copy and typography)
- Product updates (release comms, feature deep-dives)
- Press releases
- Email campaigns
- Social media posts
