Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer with expertise in fire investigation and failure analysis in our Thermal Sciences Practice in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will work to support existing consulting projects and lead new project involving failure analysis and failure prevention.

You will be responsible for

  • Conducting failure analysis investigations
  • Evaluating compliance with codes and standards
  • Performing engineering calculations and analysis
  • Planning and executing testing programs
  • Preparing written reports, proposals, and presentations
  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
  • Project management
  • Domestic and possibly international travel for field work


You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering, with a practical and theoretical understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
  • Professional engineering (PE) license, or willingness to obtain a PE
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in the area of fire investigation and failure analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent hands-on skills with experience performing field work
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business, and industry
