Our OpportunityWe are currently seeking a
Civil/Structural Engineer for our Buildings & Structures Practice in Oakland, California. In this role, you will work as part of a team to assess the design, construction, and performance of the built environment. The role will require the ability to gather information from and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry.
You will be responsible for- Inspection, analysis and determination of root causes of structural performance failures
- Conducting analytical and computer problem solving
- Performing field investigations and diagnostic surveys
- Preparing technical reports and other deliverables
- Maintaining client relations
- Continued professional development towards establishing professional expertise
You will have the following skills and qualifications- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus
- P.E. or S.E. license or the ability to become licensed within two years in the State of California
- Experience with finite element modeling and structural analysis is required
- Experience with probabilistic risk assessment is preferred
- Excellent creative problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to gather information from and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry
- Ability to use inductive reasoning and engineering judgement to synthesize observations and analyses into useful technical conclusions

CompensationOur consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
Salary RangeUSD $115,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
