SUMMARYReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the role of the Senior Human Resources Business Partner is an exciting opportunity to partner with multi-site operation leaders while overseeing the Employee and Labor Relations functions of the Organization. This position will have primary responsibility in the areas of employee relations, training, performance management, terminations, policy implementation, employment law compliance, investigations, leave of absence management, and workers compensation. This role will supervise the HR Administrative Assistant and work closely with the HR Team in the performance of their duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve and provide onsite HR leadership and support for facilities -acting as main point of contact for all employee relations issues
- Advise, recommend and assist management regarding resolutions for employee-related issues including performance management, discipline, leaves, modified duty/reasonable accommodation assignments, policies, procedures and processes.
- Participate in and lead key HR initiatives, including management training, policy changes, performance management, organization planning, benefit enrollment, and employee development.
- Understand dynamics and key business priorities to provide effective coaching to business leaders.
- Plan, coordinate and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company employees; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedure goals, objectives and systems
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of human resources services and respond to general employee or Supervisor/Manager questions related to company policies and procedures
- Responsible for the administration and management of leaves of absences including advising supervisors and employees regarding Federal, State and Company policies and processes, such as FMLA/CFRA, PDL, Workers Compensation, Military leave, etc.
- Responsible for responding to EDD claims and representing the Company at EDD and/or other hearings.
- Develop and deliver Company-wide Employee trainings; such as but not limited to Harassment Prevention, Workplace Violence Prevention, Policy Changes, etc.
- Conduct monthly on-site visits to multi-site locations to ensure sound morale, a safe work environment, address employee related concerns and conduct training of Management Personnel to meet the Company's short-and-long-term goals.
- Responsible for working with the Organizations Safety Manager in the administration and management of the workers compensation claims for the organization. The Sr. HRBP will assist in the training, distribution of materials; ensure timely completion and processing of claim forms, monitor claims status and partner with operation leaders and the Safety Manager to complete appropriate OSHA reporting forms.
- Responsible for assisting the preparation of and facilitation of the organization-wide annual benefit open enrollment.
- Assist with facilitating employee appreciation events and activities to promote employee engagement.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Responsible for analyzing turnover; understand and conduct exit interviews.
- Assist with the development and administration of the company's classification plan and Co. Wide wage increase process.

QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of:
- Principles and practices of personnel management including recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, and training and development
- Pertinent federal, state, local laws and regulations. (Multi-state background is a plus)
- FMLA/CFRA, PDL, Baby Bonding, Military, and other leave rights. (Experience with Multi-state leave management is a plus)
- Principles and practices of organizational analysis, motivation, team building and conflict resolution
Ability to:
- Speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels while maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
- Interpret and explain Company policies and procedures
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures
- Conduct investigations related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence and other related issues in violation of the Company's conduct standards
- Review and prepare comprehensive analyses and reports
- Develop and deliver effective presentations and training
- Work with, manage and control sensitive confidential information
- Lead, develop and manage an HR Administrator.
- Work in a team environment and provide back-up to the Human Resources staff as needed
- Build and maintain positive working relationships within the organization.
Experience and Training Guidelines:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college with major coursework in Business Administration, Human Resources management or closely related field
- At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional level experience involving human resources management
- Advanced knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, DocuSign, and HRIS.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Valid California driver's license and insurable driving record
- Proven track record in creating and maintaining employee communications strategies and employee engagement plans and initiatives including recognition, employee engagement events and strategies for collecting employee feedback and creating action plans to address employee concerns and ideas.

Working conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise; may require overtime, weekend work and the ability to travel.
