WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As the Senior Director of Development Platform Engineering, you will lead a talented and forward-thinking team delivering our next generation software delivery platform. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of our developer platform strategy, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure platforms that support our diverse range of applications and services.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  1. Lead and mentor a team of platform developers and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  2. Establish and nurture a community of developers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development.
  3. Drive collaboration on architectural decisions and technical strategies aligned with long-term platform goals.
  4. Drive architecture, design, and develop robust, maintainable, and scalable RESTful API solutions using the latest technologies and best practices.
  5. Implement secure, reliable, and scalable APIs to deliver an exceptional client experience.
  6. Drive the adoption of best practices in performance optimization, security, and maintainability.
  7. Integrate and exploit the latest capabilities of generative AI in a developer platform.
  8. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluate their applicability to our platform.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, platform engineering, or DevOps, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  2. Proven track record of managing and scaling development platforms in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures.
  4. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  5. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

Nice-to-have:

  1. Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation.
  2. Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
  3. Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
  4. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, or Rust.
