DNV's Maritime Business Development team provides strategic, regulatory, and policy advisory services related to the maritime markets, infrastructures, emerging technologies, and business models by continuously engaging with our stakeholders and increasing our market share.

To further grow our services in the Americas, DNV's Maritime team is seeking a Senior Business Development & Growth Manager with a focus towards Charterers, Cargo Owners, Energy Majors, and Financial Institutions. A combination of successful sales background, solid technical knowledge and experience, and strong collaboration and communication skills are essential to this role.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of the global maritime and energy transition. You are an expert on the maritime industry dynamics and commercial aspects of the major Cargo owners, Energy Majors, Charterers and Financial Institutions that are interested in maritime assets /projects. You will develop and expand our business in the Americas while strongly representing DNV's brand, known for its innovation, quality, and integrity driven service delivery. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to support DNV's growth strategy. You will perform with a high degree of individual responsibility while you actively shape this strategic role. With the support from DNV, you will look for opportunities externally to add value to our clients' businesses and operation.

This role is based at our DNV office in Katy, TX presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. What You'll Do
  • Build and strengthen relations with key decision makers and influencers within the assigned Key Accounts, enabling deep understanding and foresight of their needs and building a foundation for achieving a preferred value adding service provider.
  • Develop relationships with senior level mgmt. in the maritime industry and engage senior leadership with DNV CxO leadership, with a focus on strategic long-term engagement.
  • Create customer-centric Key Account Plans with impactful strategy, goals, and actions that ultimately lead to identifying and securing new business, retaining existing business, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide advice and services to clients on reduction of GHG emissions for new and existing ships, including energy efficiency improvements, innovative technologies, operational measures, and alternative fuels.
  • Define, lead, coordinate, and motivate the DNV Key Account Team and collaborate with all virtual teams across DNV to execute our strategy.
  • Monitor and report the sales funnel and the performance of the assigned Key Accounts.
  • Lead and support customer satisfaction review and identify and cascade within DNV any significant challenges and concerns related to the DNV interaction with the account. Follow up with the findings and ensure that related improvement activities are executed.
  • Proactively stays up to date with industry and market trends and best practices, as well as DNV products, services, and processes to remain relevant towards customers and prospects.
  • Promote, support, and facilitate the fulfillment of DNV's Purpose, Vision and Values, and shall foster a culture of cooperation.
  • Hunt for and drive new business opportunities beyond assigned key accounts.
  • Actively identify and participate in events, conferences, and workshops to network, promote and market DNV as lead innovative classification society

Qualifications

What is Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., marine engineering, naval architecture, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferred experience with Cargo Owners, Energy Majors, Charterers
  • Knowledge and understanding of Energy Markets and Dynamics, including seaborne trade
  • Knowledge of classification and statutory requirements and regulatory regimes is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support DNV's operations
  • Positive attitude to continuously explore, learn and improve
  • Strong writted and verbal English communication skills
