Job Description:About the RoleIMAX is looking for a Senior Manager to join its growing Corporate Tax team. You'll be reporting to the SVP, Tax & Treasury and manage U.S. and international tax compliance and assess the Canadian income tax consequences related to its subsidiaries and identify and execute global tax planning strategies. We're looking for someone with hands on U.S. and global tax experience, with SAP and reporting tools experience a plus.
What You'll Do:- Responsible for the review of corporate income tax and indirect tax returns for our US and foreign subsidiaries including statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare and review legal entity tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP and assist with the quarterly review and year end audit requirements.
- Monitor and manage intercompany balances to mitigate issues related to outstanding balances
- Rationalize international corporate org structure to reduce redundant entities
- Assess permanent establishment issues as we grow our footprint in foreign jurisdictions
- Identify and manage withholding tax issues related to our agreements and consider the optimization of foreign taxes paid
- Manage international tax audits and work with the Corporate tax team to respond to CRA international tax audit queries
- Assist with global M&A and post-acquisition integration activities including tax due diligence, structuring and review of agreements
What You'll Need:- 8+ years of combined corporate tax experience in industry and public accounting with a proven track record managing U.S. and international tax issues and compliance
- Chartered Professional Accountant with completion of the CPA In depth Tax Course (or equivalent)
- Solid experience working in a multinational environment
- Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills
Nice to Have:- Experience with SAP and reporting tools an asset
- Detail-oriented with the ability to clearly document analysis and conclusions
- Curiosity and interest in the business to proactively identify tax planning opportunities and improvements in the tax function
- Takes ownership for the external reporting process developing and managing the process
- Good verbal and written communication skills to distill complex tax concepts for non-tax business partners
