Job Description:

About the Role

The People Business Partner will be the most senior HR person leading the HR function in our LA office. They will work with executives and their teams, to ensure they are actively managing the growth and development of talent, helping to drive an extraordinary people experience within the functions and office, ensure leadership development and succession are ongoing and assist leaders -in optimizing their organizational effectiveness.

The People Business partner will champion business needs and provide feedback to other HR Centers of Excellence to ensure all strategies and end-to-end global people programs and processes are aligned to current business needs and in consideration and alignment to the evolving needs of the business.

The People Business Partner will have a 'roll up your sleeves' approach, strong business acumen and proven success translating business needs into HR strategy, having worked with business leaders to shape and take their organizations to the next level.

What You'll Do:

STRATEGIC
  • Act as the key People Business Partner to the Entertainment division of IMAX supporting key Executives including the Chief Content Officer, MO, heads of Distribution and Post Production clients. This role will need to build effective, collaborative and influential business partner relationships to assist leaders and their teams in delivering on their leadership vision and business strategy.
  • Provide strategic HR leadership and operational support to the client groups, working closely with business leaders to drive initiatives across talent acquisition, performance management, change management, employee coaching, compensation, succession planning, training & development, rewards & recognition, organizational effectiveness, and employee communications.
  • Establish and build credibility as a go to resource for leaders, offering guidance on the design and implementation of effective organizational structures to help deliver on business objectives and enable long-term success.
  • Partner with Leadership to translate business strategy into HR strategic initiatives, to achieve business objectives using proven HR methodologies (Organizational Design, Talent Management, Change Management and Leadership coaching).
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the organization's business challenges and opportunities, as well as those specific to each functional unit.
  • Provide coaching, counseling and feedback to leadership and people Managers on team effectiveness, hiring, performance management, talent assessment and development, compensation, and employee engagement
  • Partner closely with the Talent Development team to participate in design, development and delivery of talent content in support of clients
  • Support the development and implementation of IMAX's Diversity & Inclusion strategy. Support related initiatives such as our community responsibility and equality while fostering an equal, diverse, inclusive, and engaged work environment


HR PARTNERSHIP/PROGRAMMING/COMPLIANCE
  • Partner with wider People Team on the implementation (including launches) of all HR programs, activities, and annual processes such as Performance Management and Compensation annual processes, Talent Review Process, Talent Acquisition Process, etc.
  • Provide expertise and effectively collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence including Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Workplace as it relates to the employee lifecycle and experience.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on compensation decisions as per company philosophy.
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of current HR practices and trends and apply them to the business.
  • Educate and advise on all applicable legislation and policies related to employee matters by managing risks and compliance to government standards and Company policy.


EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
  • Work with Leaders at all levels of the organization to promote and ensure a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization.
  • Provide guidance and facilitate resolution on employee relations issues to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture. Address and resolve employee concerns with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Facilitate the resolution of employee concerns as it relates to conflict management and adherence to code of conduct expectations.


CULTURE & EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
  • Be a Culture Ambassador to help amplify and operationalize our core values and build employee connections; keeping our people informed, engaged, and inspired
  • Build relationships at all levels to keep a "pulse" of the organization and to understand the level of employee engagement and morale in the office.
  • Partner with our facilities team to ensure our employee events align with our employee engagement strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development team to design and implement pulse, team, and engagement surveys to gather employee sentiment and establish a comprehensive framework for engagement initiatives.


What You'll Need:
  • Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, preferably in a matrix and/or global environment, supporting individuals in multiple business partners and international locations.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in creative environments as this will be beneficial when working with client groups to understand and address their business needs. The ideal candidate will bring a unique perspective that helps bridge creative and business goals, ensuring effective collaboration and innovative solutions.
  • They will also have 5+ years' of direct experience in a management capacity, with proven abilities to mentor and develop staff
  • A strong knowledge of Human Resources policies, programs, methods, practices, and procedures related to Diversity & Inclusion, Cultural transformation, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Workforce Planning are desired.
  • A Bachelor degree ideally with a business concentration and/or Human Resources Management.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • A strong work ethic, with a client-centric, solutions-focus. Being comfortable working in an environment which demands solid deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
  • Deep understanding and pro-active ability to interpret business issues and requirements; building rapport, inquiry, listening and diagnosis, summarizing, seeking agreement, and influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven Experience in coaching clients on leadership development to enhance their skillset and help drive their teams to the next level.
  • Successful partnership with clients on organizational design reviews and implementations, to create efficiencies and better alignment within an organization.
  • Enjoys taking business strategy and/or Employee input and building HR programing collaboratively with Centers of Excellence to meet clients needs
  • Experience with participating in the design and implementation of programing in the areas of Diversity & Inclusion Strategies, Culture Transformation, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Workforce Planning.
  • Enthused by working in an agile environment where out of box thinking, strong communication and collaboration skills and drive is highly valued
  • Is comfortable working with multiple priorities, high volume workload and is not afraid to "roll up their sleeves" to get things done.
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive and collaborative work environment, with a passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with business leaders and employees in international offices.
  • Highly effective presentation, facilitation and communication skills.


Compensation:
136,151.00 - 170,000.00
