Chemical Rotational Molding OperatorPosition Title: Chemical Rotational Molding Operator Department: Chemical Reports to: Chemical Production Supervisor Position Summary The Chemical Rotational Molding Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining roto-mold equipment to produce a quality product. The Operator ensures products are produced to engineering specifications and that the finished product meets the quality standards of RMB and customer demands. This position requires overtime. The pay scale for the Chemical Rotational Molding Operator begins at $16/hr and increases with experience, education, and certifications. Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions: Have a willingness to learn and improve through on-the-job training Set up machines to start production cycles; prepare molds by cleaning them and adding inserts and other components Program time, temperature, and rotation on machine to achieve proper molding per setup sheets Assure that all vent tubes and parting lines are cleaned each time on the rotational mold Obtain correct powder and molds per work order; fill buckets with the proper resin, dye, and/or weight to ensure quality Install and/or remove pins and/or insert them into the proper place on the molds Properly mount molds and lined products on the proper machine arm Receive, inspect, and return molds after work order is complete Maintain machine readiness with completion of daily and weekly preventative maintenance forms Stage and prepare production runs Coat rings and plates with Teflon as required Clock time and move parts completed on work order Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws Remove lined product from arm and trim off end caps Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools Remove part from mold and, at the proper time, trim and de-flash as required Visually inspect each part for quality Reject nonconforming parts as needed and place them in the designated area Inspect finished parts for delamination, voids or bubbles, and contamination Deviate scrap products when completing a job; fill out and turn in scrap forms for deviated products Document all molding, trim/preassembly, preventive maintenance, and safety procedures; ensure compliance Provide a quality product that meets industry standards and customer expectations to be shipped Maintain time and production records Follow all safety regulations Maintain work areas per the 5S Methodology Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew Notify supervisor when problems arise Make optimum use of time and keep work area clean and neat Abide by all the policies, procedures, and guidelines of RMB, including conformance to common sense safety practices and regulations Complete other duties as assigned by Chemical Production Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications Ability to understand and follow instructions given out orally and in writing by the Chemical Production Supervisor or specified by customer expectations and requirements Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer-provided specifications Requires use of forklifts, cranes, rotational molding machines, and other heavy machinery; requires use of pneumatic and impact tools Exhibits objectivity and openness to other people's views and contributes to building a positive team spirit Requires advanced writing, math, and mechanical skills Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, including when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but are within the scope of this position Requires communication skills both written and oral in the English language Requires excellent safety practices, which include keeping a clean work area Possess interpersonal skills, which are vital to maintaining an organized warehouse Effectively process changes through RMB feedback and reviews Requires personal responsibility and accountability to meeting workmanship standards with little supervision to complete assignments Ability to take initiative with very little supervision Physical Requirements and Hazards The employee will be required to: Stand while working with machinery Sit during computer work Make repetitive movements Operate a forklift and overhead crane Lift no more than 50 pounds alone and assist in team lifts of more than 50 pounds Fulfill the work schedule, work hours, and productivity expectations of their supervisor and RMB Comply with established standards, policies, and laws applicable to our business Possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Hazards: RMB Products enforces all safety regulations. The employee is expected to follow all safety precautions. While being employed by RMB Products, the employee may be exposed to burns, cuts, and tripping. The employee may be required to use personal protective equipment. Each employee has responsibility for the protection and proper use of company property. There is a high potential for exposure to hazardous conditions. Proper precautions and safety equipment (including fall equipment) must be used.
