Role Overview: Quality Control Inspector - Location: Houston, Texas The Quality Control Inspector conducts a variety of visual inspections and dimensional checks, including making required inspection on complicated machine parts, machine part assemblies and completed products.

Key Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Performs first run, floor and final valve inspections as required, to assure items meet required standards and conform to manufacturing specifications.
- Ability to operate various precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers in a shop environment.
- Review material certifications and inspect documents required on purchased materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to final valve build sheet.
- Complete required reports and quality documents.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft programs. Good written and oral communication skills.
- Inspects incoming raw materials for suitability for machining.
- Conducts non-destructive testing of parts, using appropriate testing equipment.
- Monitor hydrostatic pressure and seat leakage tests.
- Uses a variety of precision measuring and inspection instruments, equipment and gauges to conduct precision inspections and/or tests. Performs required computations to check measurements.
- Operates fork truck, crane and power equipment.
- Completes required identification of parts and material - marks parts with numbers and associated identification requirements.
- Investigate and close-out of all NCRs
- Display the appropriate initiative, flexibility and responsiveness to satisfy customer requests within the guidelines of the company performance objectives and procedures.

Critical Competencies for Success - High School graduate or equivalent
- 4 + years of previous experience as an inspector of manufactured components or equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, capable of calculating basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio and percent.
- Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials, parts lists and material specifications.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to present effective information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the company.
- Experience in a working style which is team oriented and values communication, participation and involvement of others.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work Overtime as required. Possible extended workdays, weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
