SUMMARY OF JOB
The companion functions as an integral part of the patient care team as evidenced by assuring an environment of patient safety under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. A companion will provide a safe environment for the patient requiring one to one observation. Sitters will observe the patient and maintain a safe environment, as designated by the RN, this will include diversional activities. The companion will also establish and maintain harmonious, productive relationships with all levels of nursing, other hospital personnel, management, physicians, patients and general public.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/Equivalency
Previous clinical health care experience is preferred
Meets performance standards within introductory period
