Seeking a CNA for resident transport to/from appointments.
Position Summary:
The SKLD Driver will operate a SKLD van equipped to provide non-emergency transport of mobility-impaired individuals by accommodating wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers, and offering safe custom transportation to medical appointments and treatments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Picks up patients at facility or provider location. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers.
•Ensures wheelchairs and passengers are properly secured before starting van. Depending on route, may pick up several patients for a common destination.
•Assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas upon arrival.
•Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
•Logs all transports in provided log sheet and completes reports at the end of a shift.
•Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher or supervisor, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Assists injured persons from first-aid kit until these services arrive. Completes company accident reports.
•Utilizes shared calendar function to manage, schedule and facilitate transports.
•Assists in other needs requiring transportation of residents, goods or supplies to support the best service possible by SKLD facilities.
•While the effort will be made for a consistent schedule, due to the nature of the position and various appointment scheduling, the driver may be requested to be flexible on daily starting and finishing times.
•Assures that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times.
•Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
•Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
•Reports all Resident concerns to the appropriate department head.
•Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed. Attends in-service and education programs and attends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure.
•Promotes and Protects Resident Rights by assisting Residents to make informed decisions, treating Residents with dignity and respect, protecting Residents' personal belongings, reporting suspected abuse or neglect, and supporting independent expression, choice and decision-making consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
•Maintains a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines at all times and protects confidential information by only providing information on a "need-to-know" basis.
•Performs other duties as assigned or requested, from time to time, by the supervisor or management.

Requirements
Required/Desired Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
•Must hold a current, valid Driver's License and have an excellent driving record.
•High School Diploma or equivalent, and fluency in English required.
•Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
•Successful completion of a company training program in passenger assistance techniques, sensitivity training, and map reading, or demonstrated competence based on previous employment experience.
•Nurse Aide certification is preferred.
