Opens containers. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Loads trucks for Industrial Truck Operator. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Clamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products. Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers. Assembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles. Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Qualifications for the roleMust be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Ability to learn, understand and follow company requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to comprehend and communicate detailed written or verbal instructions.Ability to solve problems in a standardized situation with some variables.Ability to work in a high noise environment that requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or pushing weights up to 50 pounds.Flexible in terms of shift scheduling, including scheduling for weekends, overtime and holiday shifts.Preferred Qualifications:Have a strong commitment and ability to follow health and safety rules and procedures and utilize all required safety equipment.Detail oriented with good analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).Knowledge of Inventory software and Manufacturing softwareMinimum of one-year experience in driving powered industrial forklifts and/or reach trucks - and/or experience in operating pallet jacks or order picking.Ability to use company mainframe computer systems(s).Ability to run weight counting scales.Good math and problem solving skills.Ability to make quality/ repair decisions based on visual inspections of products within prescribed guidelines.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USMore about usWe value people from different backgrounds.
