Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This position reports toInternal Projects ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesAssembles production, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, and more according to directions. Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications. Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks. Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies. Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed. Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed. Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications for the roleHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge and use of tools - tape measure, screwdriver, battery operated tools, etc.Knowledge of hardware arrangements - nuts, bolts, screws, etc.Knowledge of 5S - sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustainKnowledge and use of necessary PPEAbility to read and interpret engineering job spec sheet, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and standard assembly drawingsAbility to use crane or other lifting devices, as neededAbility to use and work with hand toolsAbility to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as neededAbility to lift, push and pull up to 40lbsAbility to speak, read, and write the English LanguageAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple or basic instructionsBasic computer skills to be able to look up parts based on bill of materialsBasic mathematical skillsBasic communication skillsHand, eye coordination skills and use of both handsMinimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience involving:Reading and wiring from electrical schematicsReading and building equipment using assembly drawingsUnderstanding bill of materialsAbility to identify parts from drawingsMinimum of 3 years of prior experience working in manufacturing or field services working on electrical distribution equipment including: Switchgear (480 V to 27kV), Switchboards or Panelboards, Motor control centers, Transformers, Load interrupter switches, BuswayCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USMore about usWe value people from different backgrounds.
