Job Description

ROLE AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Front-end Software Designer is responsible for all aspects of the user interface software development. Using the principles of software engineering, ergonomic, usability, accessibility, visual appeal, consistency, and performance, he designs, develops and tests user interface applications (WEB, iOS, Android, HMI) that implement the functionalities defined by the product management.

Working closely with the front-end software designers, back-end software, embedded software designers, software architects, hardware designer and verification and validation, he or she will:

  1. Design, develop, test and maintain user interface applications for various platforms such as: WEB, iOS, Android and embedded HMI;
  2. Design, develop and maintain automated unit tests;
  3. Review design, code and test;
  4. Improve the tool set used to produce high quality and highly secure software (static analysis, dynamic analysis);
  5. Maintain continuous integration tools infrastructure;
  6. Ensure understanding of end to end solution;
  7. Identify the good enough design and code based on business value, project budget, and timeline.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Graduate diploma in computer sciences, software engineering or equivalent;
  2. A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role;
  3. Experience with ExtJS/Sencha, JQuery, and/or AngularJS;
  4. Experience with HTML5 ecosystem (including CSS);
  5. Experience in developing Cloud applications;
  6. Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure;
  7. Solid scripting skills: bash, awk, sed, perl, Python, Lua;
  8. Solid knowledge of IP networking and IT security;
  9. Solid experience in Application Development mixing multiple languages;
  10. Solid experience in Asynchronous programming;
  11. Good knowledge of GIT source control;
  12. Bilingual (French / English).

PREFERRED SKILLS

  1. Some experience with NodeJS;
  2. Some experience in QML;
  3. Some experience in Software Development in C, C# and C++;
  4. Passionate about improving user experience;
  5. Inclined to use existing software instead of reinventing the wheel;
  6. Curious and passionate about software development;
  7. Interest in emerging technologies;
