Position Overview Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty!
Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution: Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure that construction activities comply with project requirements and Kiewit standards.
Engineering & Technical Support: Provide engineering support and solutions to address technical challenges, improve productivity, and optimize project designs.
Project Management: Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to monitor project progress, manage subcontractors, and ensure that safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
Cost Management & Reporting: Monitor and manage project costs and budgets, review daily job costs, and produce accurate reports for tracking and forecasting purposes.
Documentation & Compliance: Oversee project documentation, including RFI logs, submittals, permits, drawings, and specifications, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
Quality Control: Conduct inspections and monitor quality throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with the quality team to resolve issues and achieve project quality standards.
Client & Stakeholder Relations: Foster positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure collaborative and effective project delivery.
Qualifications 6-10 years of experience in construction operations, preferably in infrastructure, heavy civil, or industrial sectors.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, P6, HCSS) and Microsoft Office Suite; understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and safety protocols.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required.
Proven ability to lead a team of construction professionals and collaborate effectively across project teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to project challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders.

Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000+
Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
