What you will be doing:
The Director will lead and drive the business development agenda within International Wealth Management (IWM) and will focus on the design and implementation of the client segmentation frameworks, market research and ensuring sustained and profitable growth through strategic business plans and initiatives across segments and business lines.
Is this role right for you:
Design and Implement IWM client segment strategies (eHNW, HNW, and UHNW), collaborate with stakeholders for target setting for volumes and client segmentation to achieve business goals.
Define and continuously evaluate segmentation guidelines for subsegments such as business owners, women, healthcare professionals, emerging HNW, and UHNW clients based on data-driven insights and market dynamics.
Track the performance of the wealth segments and specific initiatives (e.g. through KPIs) and campaigns against set targets, providing regular reports and insights to senior management on the progress and outcomes of the segment strategy, including areas for attention and recommendations for improvements.
Develop multi-year plans for the profitable growth of the client base based on client segmentation, market/economic conditions, business objectives, and competitive positioning.
Establish and oversee the implementation of the segmentation framework and standard operating procedures across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Retail, Wealth Management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of the segmentation program.
Monitor the performance of segmentation against established KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
Ensure strong controls and effectiveness of our internal referral process, aligning clients to the appropriate services across the Bank.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in business value creation and growth initiatives.
Facilitate the sharing of best practices between domestic and international markets.
Promote a data-driven culture by leveraging analytics to identify distinct client segments and recommend enhancements in products and services.
Conduct in-depth internal and external research to inform strategy to understand the characteristics and needs of the eHNW, HNW and UHNW segments and sub-segments, identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the client segment as well as creating ad-hoc deep dives on specific topics such as products, clients, regions, and sales force.
Ensure effective and efficient operations while adhering to day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning.
Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role?
We would love to work with you if you have:
Master’s degree or MBA preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services.
Strong understanding of Wealth Management business including Brokerage, Private Banking, Offshore, and Trust offerings.
Advanced knowledge of the International Wealth Management industry, competitors and their products and services including segmentation, trends and in-depth understanding of HNW and affluent customers’ financial service needs.
Fluency in Spanish is an asset; on-the-ground experience working in Latin America is an asset.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, and ability to build solid relationships at all levels and across geographies.
Strong problem-solving abilities to identify client pain-points and propose solutions.
Strong organization & self-management skills to convert strategic objectives and plans into measurable results.
Solid project and process management and change management skills.
Strong strategic influencing, coordination, prioritization, and execution skills.
Advanced presentation skills and adaptability to change.
Ability to work with a high degree of independence and originate programs and ideas.
