Information you must provide A covering letter. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the education and experience factors listed in the "Essential Qualifications". Candidates must use the education and experience factors as a header and then provide concrete examples demonstrating how they meet each of the education and experience criteria. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications) EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, finance, international affairs, public administration or business; or a degree in law (LL.L, LL.B, B.C.L. or J.D.) from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS):
EXP1: Significant experience in leading analysis, development and implementation of economic policy;
EXP2: Significant experience in establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships within an organization as well as with other federal departments and agencies, and external institutions.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex activities.
If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications) ASSET EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS):
AEXP1: Experience developing advice to support federal budget decisions and in the preparation of the federal Budget.
AEXP2: Experience working in a central agency providing advice to Ministers for Cabinet and Cabinet Committee meetings.
ASSET EXPERIENCE (INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND FINANCE STREAM):
AEXP3: Significant experience in providing advice, recommendations and briefings to senior officials and Ministers on international economic or fiscal policy.
AEXP4: Experience in economic analysis and policy development related to international affairs.
ASSET EXPERIENCE (ECONOMIC AND FISCAL POLICY STREAM):
AEXP5: Significant experience in planning, directing and participating in analytical work in which complex economic information is analyzed using empirical and/or modelling techniques.
AEXP6: Significant experience in providing advice, recommendations and briefings to senior officials and Ministers on Canadian economic or fiscal policy and macroeconomic developments.
KNOWLEDGE (ALL STREAMS):
K1: Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s policy development and decision-making processes, including the role of Cabinet and central agencies, regulatory and legislative development processes, and the budget process.
