Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Quality Technician II to join our leadership team in St. Peters, MO. The Quality Technician II provides the leadership necessary to establish and maintain quality levels of products through the entire value chain driving an effective quality system. In this role, you are responsible for quality compliance of all functions and driving continuous improvement to support our receiving, value services (kitting and labeling), rework, and shipping operations. The successful candidate will foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and open communication, and promote employee engagement with the team that enables the team to meet business objectives. This position reports directly to the Distribution Quality Manager. This position may require periodic weekend/evening work. We have openings on all shifts including 1st (6:00a-2:30p), 2nd- (2:30p-11:00p), or a flex shift which is (11a-7:30p), (12p-8:30p) or (10a-6:30p) CST

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely operates PIV equipment (forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, and order pickers) to load, unload, sort, stack, and stage product.
  • Drive continuous improvement toward defect-free processes that create loyal customers and promote a learning culture with the team.
  • Perform daily audits and quality checks for all areas in the Distribution Center throughout the shift per the documented audit sequence procedures.
  • Report and follow up on repeat quality issues with responsible teams to help brainstorm process or design improvements.
  • Participate in special projects to develop or improve quality policies, programs, or activities.
  • Begin the communication process and initiate product quarantines in the event of repeat serious issues found during the audits and lead product quarantine reworks, as needed.
  • Execute processes, including finished goods rework, re-boxing, and scrap.
  • Record results for technical reporting.
  • Inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods for proper appearance, packaging, and labels.
  • Use a wide variety of industrial machinery or hand tools to make repairs to defects related to quality.
  • Make suggestions for quality improvements and work with production and engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Must have demonstrated sense of responsibility, and accuracy in performance of past and present job assignments
  • Dependability and attendance are significant factors in the requirements of the job
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and instructions
  • Must have strong communication skills and able to present material on one-to-one basis as well as to a group of your peers and/or management if needed
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill level with software programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ETQ, Oracle
  • Able to investigate misshipments and follow the FAI process
  • Annual skills update training, as needed
•Must be able to explain the intent of the quality policies to peers and Operations Team
•Ability to read blueprints and product specifications
•Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of driving continuous improvement
Essential Skills or Knowledge:
  • Motivated self-starter able to prioritize projects, accept responsibility, and follow through without close supervision.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Highly articulate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions and recommendations.
  • Desire to continually learn and expand the knowledge base and provide continuous education for their team.
  • Knowledge of UL, CE, and transportation regulations is a plus.
