Job Type Full-timeDescriptionSummary/objectiveWe are Jenkins Electric, an electro-mechanical repair company based in Charlotte, NC since 1907. We are seeking an experienced Transformer Winder who specializes in winding coils for electrical transformers.Duties and Responsibilities-Burn out, disassemble, and accurately record winding data and tap data for transformer rewinds and repairs.-Check winding data provided by the applications engineer for reasonableness.-Work with transformer engineers to develop an optimal design for the transformer and identify material requirements.- Use the company standard process for recording data to avoid confusion during shared winding projects. Check data as required on EASA. - Wind transformers and coils accurately per transformer design worksheet.-Repair and assemble transformer cores and frames. Inspect coils to ensure they meet specified standards and tolerances.-Accurately label, test, dip, / VPI, and re-test completed transformers and coils. Clean to ensure a good, finished appearance.-Identify and resolve issues with winding equipment or the winding process-Perform routine maintenance on winding machines to ensure optimal performance.-Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to the unit's electromagnetic characteristics, operating condition, existing damage, or intended serviceability.-Ensure proper insulation techniques and requirements arefollowed during the winding process.-Communicate with the Manager and Sales Representative regarding schedule delays and workload issues.-Prepare completed parts and equipment for shipping.-Perform regular maintenance on company equipment and tooling.-Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with industry standardsThis job description does not encompass all duties, responsibilities, or activities required of the employee. RequirementsEducation And Experience-High school diploma or equivalent- Familiarity with winding machines and equipment, including setup, operation, and maintenance-Precision in winding coils to meet specific standards and tolerances-Understanding mechanical processes and being able to troubleshoot and resolve issues-Experience with checking windings and installing new leads if requiredWork Environment- Collaborative work environment.-Clean and well-maintained work area.- Emphasis on communication.- Exposure to hazardous equipment.- Required use of proper safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) and adherence to safety procedures.- Exposure to loud noises.Additional Eligibility Requirements-Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.- Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members.- Maintain a cheerful outlook and professional, courteous relationships with co-workers.- Consistent attendance record with a willingness to work overtime as needed.- Professional appearance and ability to represent the company positively in interactions with customers and vendors.-Team player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willing to learn & adapt to business needs-Ability to prioritize tasks.Physical Requirements- Ability to lift fifty pounds.- Capability to stand for extended periods.- Walking, bending, kneeling. - Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for handling small components and making precise adjustments.Proud of our history.
