Job Description Position Summary The Production Coordinator will assist in Shop activities to ensure that all products are manufactured and packaged correctly and efficiently. The primary responsibility of this role is to prioritize the workflow through the Machine Shop group including activities such as label generation, staging work for shop orders, running reports and editing shop orders. This role will help with coordinating the machining, bottling, and packaging of metal alloys and geological powders into finished products. This role will also help facilitate the production team by organizing, assigning, and completing work orders to ensure the production schedule is followed and orders are completed on time.
Roles and Responsibilities - Create/edit Shop Orders per directions of Production Planning and the Production Supervisor
- Ensure that work prioritization is kept on track; including expediting orders that are late or tracking late
- Create the daily work list for Machine Shop staff to ensure that resources are delegated to the appropriate priorities of the day
- Print labels, CoAs, and stage work
- Coordinate with leadership in other departments to ensure that shop orders can be completed in a timely manner
- Help maintain inventory, including reordering of supplies and auditing supply inventory
- Develop, implement, and maintain cycle counting schedule as required by the finance department
- Perform assigned duties using IFS including but not limited to inventory adjustments, entering labor time, and adjusting shop order quantities as needed to facilitate work flow through DSP
- Maintain active role on LGC Spill Team and Safety Committee
- Perform hazardous waste coordinator duties including inspections and waste pickups
- Help maintain all ISO procedures related to the Machine Shop and Powders Production
- Exemplify the LGC core values on a day to day basis
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain and monitor equipment as needed
Qualifications Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications Essential - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Microsoft Office skills and ERP system familiarity
Preferred - 2 years production experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to solve practical problems, using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
