Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.
GLFHC is currently seeking a bilingual Outreach and Enrollment (OE) Specialist. The Outreach and Enrollment (OE) Specialist will work to provide outreach opportunities for community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance, provide enrollment and application follow-up assistance and build/strengthen enrollment collaborations with local partner organizations in the Merrimack Valley including Haverhill MA. The OE Specialist is responsible for assisting in the resolution of any insurance or referring to ancillary services for resolution of financial issues to ensure coverage for services.
- Provide structured and accurate patient education on health coverage, engage in follow-up and offer renewal assistance for enrolled
- Accurately complete data collection including but not limited to, number of community members assisted, number of enrollment forms completed, number of enrolled as well as a referral tracking system, number of "in reach" and "outreach"
- Distribute outreach materials to patients, community members, partner organizations and businesses to build coverage option
- Identify and develop relationships with key community groups and advocates and coordinate activities with other community outreach and enrollment staff (i.e. state and federal Navigator positions) and establish GLFHC as a source of referrals and information
- Develop, discover, attend and host community events in order to promote insurance coverage options and eligibility.
- Collaborate with various local community organizations to build awareness of coverage
Qualifications - Bilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish) required
- Strong verbal and written communication in both English/Spanish
- Experience working with health insurance options
- Experience building relationships with community agencies
- Experience in planning and implementing projects and coordination of functions and setting goals and meeting timelines promptly
- Knowledge of community resources
- Excellent computer skills
Education - Bachelor's Degree preferred in a human services field or equivalent experience
