Who we are looking for: We are currently searching for a Customer Service Representative to be based out of Harvey, Illinois. Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, this person will be responsible for handling all aspects of customer service and will work closely with customers and teammates within Atkore's Mechanical business unit.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' customer service experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
What you'll do: - Lead the overall productivity initiative strengthening year over year.
- Handle all aspects of customer service, including entering, tracking and invoicing orders and releasing material for shipment.
- Heavy communication (via email and telephone) with customer base to handle all orders, inquiries, and follow up in a prompt and professional manner.
- Assist in reviewing and controlling the finished goods inventory level.
- Complete invoices; process deductions; coordinate movement of raw material from fabrication to finished product.
- Interact with internal departments and outside processors as needed.
- Assist on projects as needed.
- Crosstrain into other desks for coverage.
- Assist customers in our customer portal with set up and navigating through the portal.
What you'll bring: - Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to work independently and/or with little supervision in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively negotiate in stressful situations.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Experience with AS400 and SAP Systems strongly preferred.

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years customer service experience where customer is serviced from order entry to post-delivery.
Within 3 months, you'll: - Complete Immersion where you will learn about the industry, our business, and our products.
- Develop relationships with internal partners to provide success in day-to-day position.
- Being training in your role and responsibilities.
Within 6 months, you'll: - Continue with a detailed classroom and side by side training with your peers.
- Being to process daily tasks to ensure familiarity with training.
- Being to respond to customer emails while assisting in daily coverage.
Within 12 months, you'll: - Own daily activities and responsibilities that cover the business.
- Be fully trained and functional in your position.
- Be fully fluent in Atkore core values and business system to provide first class customer service.
