Maintenance Mechanic
Permanent/Direct Hire
Vernon Hills, IL 3rd shift/night shift: Rotating 12-hour shift, they work 2 on 2 off 3 on 3 off from 6:00pm - 6:00 am. Must be available on alternating weekends and some holidays.
Job Overview: Our client, a global fortune 500 manufacturing company is looking to hire exceptional Maintenance Mechanics in the Chicagoland area. The Maintenance Mechanic will be required to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant production machinery, support equipment, building, and other systems throughout the site to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity. The Maintenance Mechanic also assists with related upgrades, improvements, and assigned projects as required.
Knowledge & Experience: - Minimum 5 years manufacturing work experience and/or 1 year as Maintenance Technician II, with experience & training to include:
- Allen Bradley PLC (SLC-500 and/or PLC5)
- Eurotherm Drive (590-690 Series)
- Process Control & Instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.)
- Power Distribution (480 Vac & below)
- Machine Control
- Can perform all required PM checklists (Primary, Slitting, Pouching)
- Can perform all required ISO Calibration for plant production equipment.
- Knowledge of general maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures for the repair, installation, and modification of a variety of company equipment, systems, and facilities
Education and Certifications: - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Combination of technical training equivalent to that generally obtained in a two-year college or apprenticeship program.
Skills/Abilities/Behaviors: - Skilled in the use of basic hand, shop and power tools and a wide range of test and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Ability to conduct various tests on systems and must know and apply appropriate regulations and standards.
- Forklift Certification or ability to obtain same.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on the most appropriate approach to solving problems.
- Effective creative thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Good critical judgment and initiative.
- Ability to cooperate well with others to follow safety procedures and prevent injuries.
- Experience in the printing and converting industries.
