Edwards, Inc. is a full-service industrial general contractor providing construction, fabrication, and crane services. We are currently seeking a Night Shift Quality Control Inspector for our Spring Hope, NC, Pipe Fabrication Shop. This position is Monday through Thursday 6pm to 6am. Fridays and Saturdays are possible depending on workload.

The QCI Inspector will be responsible for:
n
n- Reading and interpreting shop fabrication and isometric drawings.
n- Verifying pipe spools dimensions as fit-up to shop fabrication and isometric drawings.
n- Verifying heat number traceability is correct as recorded.
n- Provide a visual weld examination of shop welding.
n- Verify welding filler materials are in compliance and the LOT traceability is recorded.
n- Monitor welding to ensure weld procedure specifications are being followed, correctly.
n- Verify weld preparations, weld sizes, and weld placement in accordance with shop weld details.

Ideal Candidates Should Have:
n
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
n
n- Continually walk/stand on surfaces which may be even/uneven, stable/unstable, and varying compositions.
n- Work in awkward spaces and/or positions including confined spaces and climbing.
n- The ability to routinely lift up to 135+ lbs.
n- Excellent hand/eye coordination, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
n
n
Essential Requirements & Skills:
n
n- Requirementsn
n- 5 years of experience in industrial piping (preferred but not required)
n- Organizational Skills
n- Able to interpret basic weld symbols as defined by AWS A2.4
n- Able to read and interpret Codes (i.e. ASME B31.1, B31.3, etc.)
n- Ability to read shop fabrication and isometric drawings.
n- Ability to read dimensional measuring devices.
n- Experience in reading weld procedures and specifications (Preferred)
n- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (preferred but not required)
n- Excellent communication skills and commitment to safety.

n- High School Diploma or Equivalent
n- Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
