An incumbent is provided exposure to functions and activities specific to the healthcare industry and specific job duties are structured to fit the needs of the assigned department. Assigned work activities may include furnishing information to authorized persons, providing clerical assistance/data entry support and related work of similar purpose and complexity.nnWork is performed under the direct supervision in accordance with established guidelines and practices. If assigned to assist with patient care or transport, work is performed under the direction of a licensed patient care provider. Work requires adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines as well as the safety, risk management and standard precaution standards of the work unit.nnCurrent enrollment in an accredited training course for Certified Nursing Assistant is required prior to date of hire. This position is intended to be of limited duration while an employee is in school.nnESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:nnTransports patients to and from nursing units and ancillary departments in a manner conducive to patient safety and comfort.nnAssists, under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider, with lifting, turning and transporting patients.nnPerforms housekeeping duties associated with a clean environment for patient care; restocks supplies/linens; empties trash/linen; strips rooms prior to EVS activity.nnAssists with cleaning and stocking of department equipment and related maintenance.nnPerforms clerical work and light office tasks, including packaging patient education materials, assembling FIT test, etc.; provides data entry support; assists with projects as assigned.nnProvides support for inpatient floors; sits a patient bedside for purposes of general visitation and non-clinical assistance; transports urgent specimens; serves as unit access screener; hand hygiene audits.nnDelivers food trays to patient rooms.nnActs as resource for patients/visitors to collect information requested or concerns; resolving or bringing issues forward as appropriate.nnPerforms related duties as assigned and within the scope of an unlicensed individual.nnQualificationsnnMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:nnEducation/Work Experience RequirementsnnAny combination of experience and education that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge and/or abilities, including interest in a potential career in healthcare.nnEnrollment in accredited Certified Nursing Assistant training is required prior to date of hire.nnJob Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesnnKnowledge of, or ability to learn, internal procedures and applicable safety, risk management and standard precautions sufficient to perform the duties of the position.nnKnowledge of standard office practices, tools and equipment (e.g. fax machine, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).nnAbility to learn and execute assigned job duties in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with instructions and established guidelines.nnKnowledge of the use and application of effective customer service practices.nnAbility to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level of proficiency, including accuracy and efficiency in keyboarding.nnAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships.nnAbility to understand and follow routine instructions and to organize/prioritize work duties.nnAbility to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.nnAbility to convey accurate information in verbal communications and to demonstrate effective conversation skills.nnAbility to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.nnLicensure/CertificationnnNonennPay Rangenn$14.82 - $20.38 /hournnWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
