Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious
Lot Attendant to assist in the movement and storage of modular homes on our lot. The
Lot Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient pulling and positioning of modular homes and pilot cars, as well as managing cribbing materials to support homes while stored. This role is essential for maintaining safety and ensuring proper storage and transport of modular units.
Key Responsibilities: - Safely pull pilot cars and modular homes off the lot, ensuring a clear and safe path for maneuvering.
- Operate vehicles with precision and follow safety protocols when moving large equipment.
- Work with and maneuver 70 lbs wooden cribbing columns to support modular homes while stored in the lot.
- Place and secure cribbing columns around modular homes to ensure stability and safety.
- Monitor and navigate lot traffic, ensuring proper placement and safe operation of vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure safe and timely transport and storage of modular homes.
- Ensure that all safety procedures and regulations are followed at all times.
- Perform vehicle inspections and ensure all equipment (e.g., cribbing, lifting equipment) is in good working order.
- Collaborate with modular home management and ground crew to ensure safe positioning and secure storage.
- Assist in setting cribbing structures (heavy wooden structures) around modular homes for support.
- Must be physically able to lift and move cribbing and other heavy materials as needed (up to 70 lbs).
Qualifications: - Valid driver's license with an excellent and safe driving record.
- CDL preferred for operating larger vehicles and handling modular home transport.
- Must be comfortable operating vehicles and equipment in a busy and potentially tight lot environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience with modular home handling or operating commercial vehicles is a plus.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move cribbing and heavy materials (up to 70 lbs).
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
- Must have clear vision and hearing to maintain safety standards.
- Must be physically able to help with securing modular units, loading, and unloading as necessary.
