Description EMIT Technologies inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Industrial Mechanic) to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery. Your role will involve performing preventive maintenance, light welding duties, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, conducting repairs, and implementing maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance. Experience or qualifications in HVAC will be an asset as you will work with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment and machinery. Perform inspections, clean, lubricate, and adjust components to ensure proper functioning and minimize the risk of breakdowns.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify the root causes of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
- Conduct repairs or replacements of faulty components to restore equipment functionality.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment manuals to assist in troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
- Prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Follow established procedures and safety guidelines during maintenance operations.
- Apply knowledge and experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment and related components.
- Perform inspections, cleaning, filter replacements, and other maintenance tasks specific to HVAC systems.
- Conduct tests and inspections on industrial equipment to verify performance, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Utilize specialized tools and instruments to measure and analyze equipment performance. Document test results and inspection findings accurately.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts, consumables, and critical components necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor stock levels, initiate procurement requests, and ensure the availability of necessary supplies to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and recommendations for improvements. Ensure documentation is organized and easily accessible.
- Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify and report potential safety hazards or risks.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, safety guidelines, and emerging technologies relevant to industrial equipment maintenance.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training in industrial mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or industrial mechanic, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Welding knowledge is a plus
- Strong mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience or qualification in HVAC systems maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Understanding of safety protocols, procedures, and regulations in an industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
