Maintenance Technician - Ethanol Refinery in southeast Nebraska Job Summary: Our client, an Ethanol Refinery located in southeast Nebraska, is searching for a dedicated Maintenance Technician. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance (PM) activities, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum plant performance. This role focuses heavily on mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics. All maintenance department employees participate in developing and implementing plant safety programs and policies.
Essential Job Functions: - Perform troubleshooting, installation, routine maintenance, and repair of mechanical manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions outside of normal working hours.
- Responsible for mechanical piping within the plant.
- Demonstrate understanding of welding principles associated with stick, TIG, and MIG welding.
- Read and understand mechanical and piping prints.
- Handle hydraulic operations and equipment.
- Demonstrate personal computer skills and use of mechanical programs.
- Perform rotating machine alignment.
- Have a basic understanding of electrical systems to assist the Maintenance Electrical Technician.
- Possess project management skills and participate in plant projects when needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and adhere to department and company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure awareness and implementation of all local, state, and federal regulations as they apply to the maintenance department.
- Perform other duties as needed to maintain safe and timely day-to-day operations of the plant.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and company matters.
- Support all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and policies, and be accountable for their performance within these programs in the Maintenance Department.
Minimum Requirements: - High school graduate or GED required; Technical degree or certification in a related mechanical field preferred.
- Over 3 years of experience in industrial or process maintenance operations, preferably in the ethanol industry.
- Experience in mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.
Abilities Required: - Work rotating on-call schedule during weekends and holidays.
- Ability to respond to and support emergency issues on a 24/7 basis during the assigned stand-by week and work outside of normally scheduled hours as needed.
- Must live within a 1-hour commute to the facility.
- Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
Compensation: - Wage: $47.83/hr (~$99.5K) + OT; benefits included.
