JOB SUMMARY This position is required to perform a variety of roles and activities within any aspect of the Packaging department operations. Due to the dynamic nature of our business, duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Effectively operate equipment within the Packaging department, as directed by supervision
- Substitute or cover breaks for other employees, as needed
- Keep the area and equipment clean and neat at all times
- Perform other duties, as required by supervision
- Perform changeover activities, as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High school diploma
- GED or relevant experience in lieu of degree
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Good communication skills - written and verbal
- Detail oriented and accurate
- Ability to multi-task
- Personable, even-tempered, easy to get along with
- Follows directions well
- Be flexible in shift assignments
- On The Job Training: If employee is presently a member of the packaging department, he/she must have completed the packaging department training program. When dealing with a new hire or an employee transferring from another department, he/she will be required to complete the packaging department training program followed by several hours of O.J.T. within the first 30 days of hire date or transfer date.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS - Ability to climb up and down stairs repetitively
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to be on feet 8-12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week
- Have a working knowledge of the operation of one or more pieces of equipment within Packaging
- Ability to use basic math and writing skills necessary to complete required paperwork
- Ability to read and understand case code and can codes
- Ability to read and understand shop order instructions
JOB COMPENTENCIES Other - Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
- Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
