Description Starting hourly pay range from $35.00/hr 1st Shift 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Holidays, PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Telemedicine and Supplemental Benefits. Overview : Directs and coordinates activities involved with welder/fitters, visual testing inspectors and the production of customer demands throughout facility. Perform visual and layout inspection. Testing and inspection of products will be performed at various stages of production process in compliance with applicable codes, standards, or other specified requirements. Places safety and environmental issues as a priority at all times. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Job Functions: - Ensures welding processes, procedural instructions, evaluations, inspection processes, etc. are held to customer and code requirements of all fabrication performed.
- Assists the Quality Manager with the implementation, interpretation, and maintaining Company quality assurance standards.
- Trains internal visual testing inspectors and fabrication employees in inspection procedures and processes.
- Maintains oversight of visual testing inspectors to ensure conformity to company and customer weld inspection programs and regulations.
- Provides Quality Manager and Factory Manager with status reports for internal control on quality issues concerning fabrication processes and procedures.
- Assist Company personnel in the determination of root cause for quality issues related to the welding process.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Education: May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least two to five years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Certified Welder Inspector
- CWI certification and MT/PT Level II certification preferred
- Minimum five years knowledge of fabrication within the steel industry
- Three-year minimum experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Three years of quality system coordination or supervision in a manufacturing environment required
- Familiarity with ISO9000 required
- Ability to read blue prints, tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
- NAVSEA experience is a plus.
- LIFTING REQUIREMENTS : 50 pounds
- PUSHING /PULLING REQUIREMENTS : 50 pounds w/assist
- SAFETY REQUIREMENTS : Hard hat, in required areas, safety shoes and safety glasses
