Managing Attorney
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join a law firm as a Managing Attorney in the First-Party Property Damage division. You and your team will be responsible for representing commercial and residential property policyholders in pursuing insurance claims regarding property damage.
This position is for a Managing Attorney position for an attorney with a minimum of 5 years experience with first party property damage claims, who can assist in starting, building, and managing the Florida office.
Initially you would start out handling a case load of $5-10 million in claims with a team that includes a junior attorney, 2 paralegals, a legal admin, and a back-office team (100-150 files on average). We plan to grow the team and firm after building your team and as your caseload grows you will be responsible for assisting in executive functions such as hiring, managing the office etc.
Compensation includes a $240,000 base salary and between a $100,000 - $160,000 annual bonus depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Handle a caseload of first-party insurance claims from inception to resolution.
Client Consultation: Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and options in first-party insurance claims. Maintain open communication with clients, keeping them informed about case developments.
Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate with insurance companies to secure fair and favorable settlements for clients. Draft demand letters and negotiate terms that align with clients' best interests.
Litigation: Prepare and file lawsuits when necessary, and represent clients in court proceedings. Conduct discovery, depositions, and other litigation-related activities.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, legal professionals, and experts to strengthen case arguments. Work closely with support staff to ensure smooth case management and client communication.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida state bar and in good standing.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently.
