Position Title: Safety Manager
Department: Operations
Location: Chicago based, supporting all Chicago and Wisconsin facilities.
FLSA: Exempt
This position is responsible for the design, management, and implementation of V&V’s comprehensive Health and Safety programs and provides direction to all levels of the Company regarding appropriate practices. Plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates safety initiatives that meet and exceed regulatory requirements.

Key Activities
- Ensure V&V’s compliance with health, safety, as well and coordinate, lead and follow up on safety meetings.
- Plan and implement safety policies, procedures, and preventative actions in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including OSHA.
- Develop & evaluate companywide training programs on work site safety practices.
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hires and ongoing refresher courses.
- Maintain safety files and records.
- Conduct post-incident investigation and prepares reports identifying possible incident causes and hazards company and manages Workers Compensation cases.
- Maintain and implement Emergency Response plans.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure regulatory compliance at each facility Remain current with all regulatory, operational, and technical matters relative to safety management and safety training programs.

External Collaboration
- External Agencies (OSHA, local regulatory bodies, etc.)
- Local Emergency Services (police, fire, ambulance, etc.)
Skills Required
- Working knowledge of OSHA
- Knowledge of all federal, state & local regulations, and industry requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel and support Chicago and Wisconsin Facilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
Necessary Experience
- 5+ years of safety work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or equivalent.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus
- Bilingual - fluent in Spanish and English
