Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production, maintenance, quality control, and shipping processes. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machining, aerospace and defense manufacturing standards, and leadership skills to manage a team of machinists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Oversee the entire production process, ensuring timely and efficient manufacturing of aerospace and defense parts.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Collaborate with Engineering and production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications, translate them into actionable programming instructions.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all products meet stringent aerospace and defense quality standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any quality issues.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead a team of CNC machinists, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed.
Maintenance and Safety:
- Oversee the maintenance of all CNC machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and productivity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase output.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC machining and aerospace manufacturing technologies.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and control operational costs, identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Prepare and present financial and operational reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a CNC machining environment, preferably in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machining processes, and quality control standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for aerospace and defense manufacturing.
