Akkodis is seeking an High Voltage Battery Release Engineer for a 12+ months contract position in Auburn Hills, MI, 48326.
Pay Range: $40-41 hourly on W2 with Akkodis, the pay range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Summary
To support the design, development, and release of High Voltage Battery System Hardware. The DRE shall provide the launch support, field battery diagnosis, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for ePT battery programs.
Responsibilities
-Product Releasing for HVBS which includes but are not limited to the end-to-end management of the design and production release of one or more projects.
-Projects include the low and/or high voltage vehicle battery, software and hardware integration for BSG, PHEV, and BEV vehicles released for North America markets and
has a support responsibility for supporting the Global Vehicle Safety & Compliance teams in all regions throughout APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and North America (including Mexico and Canada).
-Coordinate the release of designs, obtain design approvals, ensure designs are manufacturable, component readiness, track piece cost, investment & mass, support future design direction, lead and facilitate resolution of component issues, lead design changes through change management process, and support supplier quality assurance & warranty resolution.
-Work with Stellantis suppliers (through Development Phases (A, B & C-samples, Product intent)) and with FCA cross-functional teams (Chief Engineers, architecture, purchasing, platform managers, program managers, and quality engineers) to ensure the successful launch and release.

-Root Cause Analysis for Field Issues – Primary Contact to STAR Center for HV Battery Diagnostics

Deliverables
-The management of all related CN’s within the vehicle Battery, software, and hardware integration for HVBS vehicles released for NAFTA markets and has a support responsibility for supporting the --Global Vehicle Safety & Compliance teams in all regions throughout APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and NA (including Mexico and Canada).
-Insure the design changes for the battery & components are designed to and meet performance through systems analysis/ validation to requirements
-Review program High Voltage Battery System (HVBS) that satisfy vehicle level functional objectives
-Consult ePT HVBS packaging activities with advanced concept engineering team
-Execute programs through PDP that meet or exceed objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality
-Support design for manufacturing process and assembly process with the supplier engineering
Preference :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the field of power electronics (research graduate work may count towards experience)
- Experienced in validating and releasing of Electric Components for Automotive applications.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem solving ability
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Knowledgeable in regard to GD&T.
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes of electrical components
- Components releasing experience Knowledge in electrified powertrain propulsion systems
- Knowledge in Power Electronics Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) green / black-belt
- Knowledgeable in use of Teamcenter with experience in NX in a production release environment
