Responsibilities of the Scientist II - Analytical Chemistry:
- Conducts Quality Control assessments and reviews data to facilitate the timely release of products on a weekly basis.
- Develops, optimizes, and validates robust analytical methods to ensure thorough analysis and prompt release of raw materials, finished products, and stability studies.
- Utilizes Empower Software and other relevant laboratory applications within the QC environment for chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, as well as wet chemistry techniques.
- Evaluates testing methodologies and their suitability for various sample matrices and instrumentation, including the review of results from contract laboratories to ensure compliance with established methods and parameters.
- Keeps abreast of the latest advancements in technology and science, acting as a resource for analytical science within the team. Mentors and trains chemists in method execution and the interpretation of validation studies.
- Manages hazardous waste generated in the laboratory, ensuring compliance with RCRA and SCDHEC regulations through appropriate containerization, labeling, accumulation, and storage.
- Undertakes additional tasks as directed by supervisors to support organizational objectives.
- Communicates effectively across departments and works collaboratively within a team environment.
- Consistent attendance is mandatory.
Requirements of the Scientist II - Analytical Chemistry:
- A BS/MS degree in analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in analytical method development for nutraceuticals or pharmaceuticals in a cGMP setting.
