Briarlake Partners is a strategic sourcing focused recruiting firm. We are working with a Chicago-based client looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to focus on direct material spend. We are looking for candidates with a strong strategic sourcing process and the confidence and ability to run sourcing projects across multiple stakeholders. This role will help develop category strategies and source electrical/mechanical direct material such as heaters, motors, controls, bearings, etc.... This role requires five days a week in our client's Downers Grove area office.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience including multiple strategic sourcing projects across direct material categories
• Experience supporting multiple manufacturing plants is required
• Developing category strategies
• Negotiating multi-million dollar contracts
• Strong Microsoft Excel modeling, Access, and PowerPoint presentation skills
• Track-record of problem-solving, including structuring problems, performing detailed analysis, and developing recommendations
• Strong communication and influencing skills

Candidates must be located in the general Chicago area. Working remotely is not an option.
