Position : Corporate Counsel
Reports To : The role will report to Roper’s Deputy General Counsel and work closely with Roper’s approximately 28 business units
Location : Global Corporate Headquarters in Sarasota, Florida – minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Education : Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school; superior academic performance in law school and undergraduate program required
Experience : Minimum one year practicing in multi-national law firm; additional in-house legal experience considered a positive
Role: Candidate will provide general legal support to business operations at both the corporate and subsidiary level, with a focus on negotiating and advising on commercial matters; advise on litigation prevention and regulatory compliance; provide support to the M&A function through due diligence and drafting and negotiating deal related documents; periodically work with specialized attorneys in the department on matters across a variety practice areas, including corporate governance, compliance, litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment, and data privacy law.
Expertise : Candidate must possess the following: demonstrated subject matter expertise in reviewing, drafting and advising on a variety of commercial documents including: software license agreements, supply agreements, distributor/partner agreements, terms and conditions of sale and purchase, end-user license agreements, and consulting agreements; general understanding of the M&A process, litigation management, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance; understanding of basic accounting principles and business processes.
Qualifications : Candidate must possess the following additional qualifications: strong interpersonal and communication skills and a customer service orientation; strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; keen attention to detail; excellent analytical skills; a self-starter approach, with a high level of motivation.
Compensation : Base salary; annual bonus (tied to Company performance); annual equity award; relocation to Florida.
