Venteon is currently seeking a Buyer to fill an opening with a Tier 1 Manufacturing Company in metro-Detroit. Candidates should have Purchasing experience, ideally experience sourcing for electronic components.
Requirements of the Strategic Buyer
- Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in the automotive electronics
- Strong technical expertise pertaining to PCBs, electronics hardware, semiconductors or ECUs.
- Able to function independently with minimal supervision & technical guidance.
- Excellent negotiation skills.

Responsibilities of the Strategic Buyer
- Negotiates contracts for prices and terms with outside suppliers for new and carryover components.
- Develops and maintains commodity strategies in cooperation with other regions and in alignment with organizational needs and targets.
- Follows market price trends and general business activities.
- Manages supplier commercial issues.
- Establishes Annual Material Budget and performs monthly budget analysis.
- Works with suppliers and internal resources to identify, develop and implement material cost savings.
- Develop new suppliers/disruptors to properly support the needs of each product line
- Develop and execute plan for localization to increase regional content.
