Position Overview
- Our International Legal team is seeking an experienced and motivated counsel with 8+ years of commercial compliance experiences. The position will play a key role in the strategy, the international business expansion, on ground operation as well as support and grow the relationship between our legal team and other functional teams such as tech, branding and marketing, supply chain, and operation teams.
- This full-time position will report to the Legal Director of International Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to join our expanding international legal team and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What you get to do in this role:
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact supporting certain commercial transactions and strategic partnerships, and the related product counseling
- Advise on business and strategy related to a broad range of issues including such as general corporate, real estate, supply chain, permit and licensing, and etc
- Advise on compliance with US and international laws surrounding advertisement, pricing and employment
- Advise and ensure compliance with F&B industry as well technology related regulations and standards
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with external vendors and partners
- Advise on a wide range of legal issues arising from our day-to-day operations such as store operation, product development, promotions and customer complaints.
- Partner with and cross-functional stakeholders to invent, simplify, and implement company policies, processes, manuals and SOPs
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to provide in depth strategic and practical guidance to business stakeholder to facilitate their decision-making
- Monitor and respond to regulatory changes and emerging trends
Qualifications
In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
- A law degree from a prestige law school
- Qualification to practice law in New York is a must; Qualification to practice law in other States is a plus.
- At least 8 years of PQE with no less than 3 years in top law firms with experiences in commercial compliance and regulatory issues including
- Inhouse experience is a must, and experiences with F&B industry or tech companies is preferred
- English as working language; Fluent in conversational Chinese
- Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead legal strategy and manage high-stakes projects effectively
- Comprehensive knowledge of the tech-enabled services or F&B sector
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, spot issues, prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster trust, respect, and collaboration with internal clients
- Strong team player and good business sense
- Strategic thinker with integrity and spirit of entrepreneurship
